MunKeat is a wedding photographer in Malaysia who specialises in destination wedding photography, fine art portraits and film photography. He is one of the few film as well as Leica photographers in Malaysia. Despite being surrounded by cameras and photographers as he was growing up (his great-grandfather and grandfather were the proud owners of one of Ipoh’s oldest photography studios), Munkeat’s foray into photography only came later on. His photography style is very much influenced by the historic film era – classic and timeless. As an avid camera collector who owns more than 40 sets of cameras, he uses a blend of digital and film-based, analogue approaches for all of his work. He also travels extensively for assignments all over the world.
