Not every bride can pull off a DIY wedding. This couple did, and it looks amazing. As Allyson admitted, she is one of those lucky brides who have wonderful girlfriends. Thank you Angela Rose Photography, for sending us this set.
Allyson: “The most memorable moment was getting married with an amazing view in the company of our loved ones at Robertson Park. We choose Watsons Bay because we fell in love with the idea of getting married under the big fig tree and being close to the water. The grand feast menu was probably the deciding factor for us though. The food just sounded amazing!
“Navy was the colour of the groom’s tux and the bridesmaids’ dresses. We also DIY-ed kraft paper stationery, and neutral colours were used just to fit in with the tone and setting of the hotel. We bought David Austin roses and baby’s breath from the Sydney Flower Market, and arranged them ourselves.”
Tips from the bride: “I chose to go DIY for most things, as it helped save on a lot of the costs and I felt that it gave me the flexibility to plan our wedding the way we wanted it to be. Fortunately, I was really lucky to have girlfriends who are extremely creative and talented. They helped with all of the wedding stationery, décor and flower arrangements. I also relied heavily on Pinterest and wedding blogs for ideas.”
