The pandemic definitely threw a spanner into the works, but that didn’t stop Eileen and Nicholas from planning their dream wedding – and having the time of their lives when they finally got to celebrate their union. We know many couples have had to recalibrate their wedding plans, and these newlyweds were no different. From the décor to the delectable cheeseboard, they put extra thought into their special day to make their guests feel as if they had “travelled” somewhere. Many thanks to Natasha Khoo of The Peak Xperience for the gorgeous setup and Vinoth Raj Pillai for capturing these beautiful photos of joy!

Eileen: “The most memorable moment for me was at the end, where I was finally able to sit and indulge in a piece of my wedding cake, thinking about how happy I was with how well everything turned out! Natasha and I had gone through multiple versions of moodboards, each with a different concept and design, to suit three different venues. However, I had always wanted a dark and moody colour palette, and the inspiration for this was mostly drawn from Aussie stylists and planners that I follow on Instagram. I also wanted my guests to feel like they were overseas.”
Tips from the bride: “I think the wedding industry is definitely changing amidst the pandemic, causing people’s perceptions of what and how their big day should look like to be different. Having gone through multiple postponements, Nick and I have learnt a lot about perseverance and letting go of things that are out of our control. I think it’s all about balancing what makes you happy and what you can do in the moment without sacrificing too much of your own needs and wants. Also, remember to have fun on the day because it just goes by too quickly!”
