After 14 years of love lived quietly, Jessie and Joel’s wedding was a deeply intentional unveiling — not only of their relationship to the world but of a vision rooted in symbolism, architecture, and emotion. Held in a raw industrial warehouse reimagined into an immersive art space, the celebration unfolded around the theme “终向晨曦” (Eventually, Towards the Dawn) — a tribute to certainty through doubt, inspired by their custom wedding bands designed by local jeweller Left & Right.

As an architecture graduate, Jessie’s vision centred on the beauty of industrial balance — brick, steel, and space in harmony. The blank venue was artfully transformed with black drapery and a striking gradient of tones from deep shadow to silvery white, culminating in a glowing circular installation overhead — the symbolic “sun” and emotional anchor of the entire space.

The couple’s attire echoed the sculptural elegance of the setting. Jessie wore a gold South Asian–inspired lehenga, reflecting the couple’s multicultural union. Later in the evening, she changed into a satin white gown with a dramatic knotted bodice, a modern yet poetic silhouette that echoed the bold serenity of the décor. Joel, in a crisp white double-breasted jacket and black trousers, carried a timeless, tailored elegance that balanced her sculptural look.
The main tables were dressed in reflective silver, accented with transparent chairs and floral compositions of varied pitcher plants. The circular stage was completed with red proteas, celosia, and dark foliage to complement the crimson glow overhead. The tactile palette — from the glossy metallic table linens to soft mist-like textures — created a spatial journey from shadow into light.

Guests entered beneath a suspended art-style banner, printed with bilingual phrases and portraits of the couple — a nod to their love story and their appreciation for minimalist exhibition design. It was more than décor; it was the prologue to the experience.

One of most moving moment for Jessie was walking into the dining hall for the first time. After months of challenges, to see the design come to life — their sun above, their people around — brought tears and peace from certainty.
