After getting engaged by the serene sailboats of Lake Como, Emily and John knew their wedding needed to echo the romance of the sea. Their vision came to life at a private villa along the cliffs of the Athens Riviera, where they welcomed 50 of their closest loved ones for an intimate destination celebration that blended culture and style.

Based in London and of Malaysian Chinese heritage, Emily and John crafted a wedding experience that honoured their roots while embracing their current life together. Their day began with a playful twist on the Chinese “Gatecrashing” tradition—John had to map out a London Underground line to reach his bride, a nod to his well-known love for the city’s transit system.

Emily wore two stunning gowns: for the ceremony, a dramatic strapless dress adorned with cascading organza petals that mimicked soft sea foam, and later, a refined off-shoulder satin gown for the reception. Her look was polished with timeless elegance—her hair swept into a mid chignon and pearl earrings adding a soft, classic touch. John matched the coastal backdrop in a tailored cobalt blue suit paired with a soft grey tie—both modern and sharp against the Aegean sky.

The ceremony took place on a manicured lawn overlooking the Aegean Sea, framed by sculptural white vases overflowing with spring blooms in coral, cream, blush, and green. The décor seamlessly blended into the landscape, with the sea’s deep azure playing off the organic floral palette. Bridesmaids added to the refined palette in mismatched tones of maroon, espresso brown, and champagne beige, creating a look that was both cohesive and stylishly relaxed.

Dinner menus were custom-illustrated and included a Mediterranean feast—highlighting seafood, Greek produce, and thoughtful personal notes to each guest. From the meaningful date—22.5.2025, a nod to “520” symbolism for love—to the emotional seaside vows, every moment was layered with intention. The reception transitioned into an alfresco dinner and dancing under the stars, with the couple’s joy radiating throughout.
