Sometimes we get so caught up in counting down to the wedding day that we forget what’s truly important are the days that follow the exchange of vows. To celebrate life after the wedding, we are doing two special posts of couple doing regular, everyday things, because of course marriage is made up of all these ordinary days.

In collaboration with Rev AsiaxEcoWorld, we photographed this couple highlighting their mundane routines of life – such as doing the laundry, grocery shopping or walking in the park – made special by the presence of a cherished spouse. We love these cute portraits captured by Twins Photography!

Raihan and Haris first met when they were just eight years old and accompanying their respective fathers to a triathlon in Port Dickson. Haris couldn’t help noticing how cute Raihan was in her glittery butterfly t-shirt, but he was too shy to speak to her – something that would continue for years as their families stayed close. Instead he kept tabs on her from afar (read: Facebook stalking), while she remained unaware of his affections.

Fortunately, fate found a way, and Raihan saw Haris at a lunch one day after they had both returned from the UK. This time, his wit and charm captured her, and she began to make excuses to sit with him whenever their families had dinner together. Soon they began to spend time together, including a whole day walking around the city in search of the perfect egg tarts! Raihan got bad blisters on her feet that day, but she would do it all over again. They fell in love, and the rest was history.

PS: Haris, may you feel butterflies in your stomach when you wake up next to Raihan each morning, just like when you first met her!
