Oh, this wedding is truly a dream – summer in Italy is right out of a movie set, with the rolling hills, fresh produce, and the peaceful Italian countryside. The bride looked like the lead in a fairytale – from her beautiful gown made out of delicate lace to her dramatic veil and regal hairpiece. With everything kept simple and using nature as the perfect backdrop, the couple added subtle yet detailed decorations to turn the space into a magical soiree. Thanks for this incredible set of photos, MangoRed!

Mariana: “There were a lot of personal highlights for me! Definitely moments in the church and watching Massimo looking up and holding back the tears. Then driving off in a vintage car and getting a moment to ourselves to take it all in. Then to the amazing speeches! And the surprise on everyone’s face when the tenor appeared and started singing from the balcony, as well as the cutting of the cake, which was made fresh in front of everyone. And of course, all the dancing on the dance floor!

“When I was dating Massimo, he told me about a vineyard that his dad’s friend owned in Tuscany and that we should go one day. He’d never actually seen it but his parents have and showed him pictures. He mentioned it to me while we were dating that we should get married there (we weren’t even engaged!). When we got engaged, it was the first (and only) venue we saw, and we instantly fell in love with it. The venue has such amazing views and beautiful trees that I wanted to mimic its nature. I’m not a huge fan of having things super orderly and perfect. I wanted a fresh garden look with loose giant flowers, soft pastel colours, and little bright blue flowers. And for me, lighting is one of the most important parts in setting the atmosphere! Since it didn’t get dark until 10pm, it was so magical to see the change of light while having dinner. I had my husband’s amazing groomsmen help me put up 40 glass balls with lights on the trees. It was so beautiful because you’d hardly notice them during the day but as the sun set, they intensified.”

Tips from the bride: “Don’t wait until the last moment! And don’t have your fiancé help out with the flowers or décor, either. I know it’s stereotypical but let him do the boy stuff, like finding the vintage car, the alcohol, the flights, hotels, and food. That’s about it, unless he really does want to get involved… then you’re very lucky! I also had him do the excel sheets, which I think he really enjoyed…?

“Pinterest is great, but you’ll end up seeing a lot of the same things. Try to think of yours and your fiancé’s life and what would be unique to have at your own wedding. For example, since my side speaks English, I put a funny Italian language book in their hotel rooms, so my guests can practice their Italian, along with olive oil or wine from the vineyard. I turned to Instagram for a lot of inspiration as well. I followed @trillefloral and loved the way she does loose floral arrangements. Finally, have fun because no one will notice if anything goes wrong. Your guests are all there to have a good time, not to nitpick.”
