We were absolutely enchanted by the rustic charm and natural surroundings of this gorgeous ocean wedding at Khayangan Estate in Bali, Indonesia. The couple felt that Uluwatu’s amazing views and seclusion from the crowds and busy areas would be perfect for the intimate wedding they desired, and they were right. Thank you for these wonderful images, Iluminen!
While keeping all the other colours tastefully neutral, the bridal pair opted for a chic and modern twist by having their wedding ensemble don smart suits in blue. The oaken rooms and hallways required just a touch of tastefully selected décor, which in this case were bouquets of white that truly complemented the classic wood grain of the furniture.
The bride shared: “Khayangan was perfect. Not only was the view amazing, the Javanese architecture – the culture from which my family originates – was also a great way to introduce my heritage to my groom’s parents since we didn’t have time to go to Java.”
Tips from the bride: “Take a year! Choosing a venue was one of the biggest decisions. Places are normally booked out a year or two in advance. Choose a great wedding planner, one with whom you share a good rapport, and who listens and texts you back. Create a perfect party for the guests, but most importantly, it’s your wedding so make it meaningful and fun for yourselves. Our wedding ended with a pool party with our friends. As for décor, I started out by making a moodboard on Pinterest. I also used Instagram extensively.”
