The ongoing pandemic has meant that couples have had to get creative with their wedding planning, whether it was eloping, postponing, or simply keeping things really intimate. These newlyweds went one step further, tying the knot on a yacht! Now that’s a pandemic wedding for the photo albums. As a wedding venue, the yacht ticked all the right boxes, from keeping the guests safely distanced from crowds to, of course, being downright gorgeous. Thanks to ProudRad for these blissfully romantic wedding photos!

Josh: “Our wedding planning was actually rushed, as we had originally planned to get married in Bali in January 2021. Due to unforeseen circumstances and the pandemic, we moved it to an earlier date and had our celebration here in the Philippines.

“It was a different experience saying ‘I do’ on a yacht in the middle of the sea! Aly’s bridal entrance was one of a kind – she arrived in a speedboat instead of the usual bridal car. Because of the intimate setup, we were really able to enjoy the day with our families. Even with a limited budget, we got our ‘dream suppliers’ and had the ‘dream wedding’ we always wanted.

“As a couple, we always imagined our wedding to be unique and practical. With the pandemic still on and lockdowns imposed, finding a venue was very difficult. Most of our prospective venues were closed on our wedding date, so we tried to find a venue that would be far enough away from busy locations, hence the yacht. We were surprised to learn that there had only been a few yacht weddings in the Philippines. For the colours, we wanted our guests to wear white. We thought it would suit the venue and create a clean and minimalist look.”

Tips from the bride: “Don’t complicate things – the simpler, the better. Fewer details mean you won’t stress about too many things. Get the best coordinators so you don’t have to worry about a single thing on your wedding day. Weddings don’t have to be grand, what’s important is you get to enjoy this once in a lifetime event with your loved ones and, of course, your partner. Just let go and enjoy the moment!”
