We love minimalist wedding themes for the simple reason that they are sensible and tasteful, and they make wonderful pictures without consuming too much of the couple’s energy during the wedding planning. Thanks for these amazing shots, Andrew Chow of Munkeat Studio

The bride wanted something simple yet elegant, without overly bold décor. The couple loved the vibe at ACME Bar & Coffee, Troika, not just for its cosy setting complete with fairy lights and a really swanky feel, but also for the fact that they were allowed to have their precious furbaby join in the ceremony.

The bride shared: “The most memorable part of the day was having my Coco with me. It made me feel complete knowing that all my family members were there. Amongst other treasured memories were my grandparents flying in all the way from Korea. My grandfather postponed his knee surgery just to attend my wedding, and this will be their last trip overseas. I also cherished walking down the aisle with my hand in my father’s. It was rather a bittersweet moment as that marked the beginning of a new chapter, but it also meant living away from my dad.”

Instead of a semi-fake cake as the wedding cake, the bridal couple had a completely real wedding cake that was smaller in size, but that ensured every guest a slice. As for the ambience, their planner had it all down pat. “It was simple but she got everything I wanted – leaves, blush, flowers and candles,” the bride revealed. “Everything was wonderful because we had only planned for about nine months, and to see it all come together was beautiful. Having my close friends and family enjoy the night with my husband and I was priceless.”

Tips from the bride: “Rather than overdo the web search for wedding inspiration, take some time to imagine the wedding you really want to have, and pay no mind to the pressure from your parents or other people’s weddings. Some may want a grand wedding and perhaps most people do that, but you don’t need to if that’s not what you want. It is all about the memories you build when putting the plans together.”
