Their intention to keep things cosy and simple did not stop these newlyweds from pulling out all the stops when it came to the little details that added flair and elegance to their wedding soiree. What’s even more impressive was that the wedding was entirely DIY. Granted, the venue was already a gem on its own, but the flowers and liberal use of eucalyptus, ferns and herbs really brought the rustic chic theme together. Thanks for sharing this gorgeous set of photos, Peter Herman Photography!

Hui Min: “I guess the most memorable moment was the vow exchange, when we voiced our deepest promises to each other from the bottom of our hearts. It’s hard for those of us who grew up in very traditional spaces where we did not normally share our feelings. We were so touched that our friends and family all came together to give us their well wishes and blessings. We rarely get together as everyone is from different parts of the world: London, Australia, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. For them to make the trek to Johor Bahru was something we both really appreciated.

“From the invites and the favours to the whole wedding ceremony concept and execution, everything was 100% DIY. After confirming the wedding date, we had to source a venue that had a rustic yet green ambience. After some research, we decided to go for Rowan & Parsley – their environment and interior design were perfect for our concept, and it saved us some effort on our décor. Bonus: The food was delicious! So we had a simple ROM at the garden of the café followed by a cosy dinner. Many thanks to my talented friends, sisters and family for making everything perfect and for getting involved in our beautiful life journey. It was absolutely priceless!”

Tips from the bride: “Just plan everything well, and check it one by one slowly before the actual day. Then just relax and enjoy your wedding – believe in your people! It’s your big day and everyone’s attending to give you their blessings!”
