There is no better spot to have a wedding than in front of an artist’s masterpiece, wouldn’t you say? The ‘Golden Mirror Carousel’ by Carsten Holler is breathtaking, with light reflecting off the golden surface. It is beautiful and, needless to say, not much décor is required. A bride who knows how to appreciate such a venue certainly has a creative flair, and this bride put much thought and DIY work into a lot of her wedding stationery. Thanks, Sayher Heffernan, for capturing the best moments of such a beautiful wedding.
Ai: “Some of the most memorable moments from our wedding day were the little moments we shared together, like singing along to ‘our’ song as we walked down the aisle and jumping onto the amazing Carousel at the National Gallery of Victoria with our shoes off. We were very blessed to have so many family and friends attend our wedding, and capturing a photo of everyone while we released 100 red balloons was extremely special.
“My favourite season is autumn, but we got married in the spring. So we incorporated the theme of ‘trees and the four seasons’ into the wedding. I love all things fine art and regularly go to the Gallery, so we were thrilled to be able to have our wedding reception in The Great Hall at the National Gallery of Victoria.”
Tips from the bride: “I got a lot of inspiration from Instagram. There are great wedding focused Instagram feeds that do all the research for you. My tip for brides-to-be is to choose songs for the day that mean something to the both of you. It’s really special when those songs come on the radio or your playlist and you think back to your wedding day.”
