Julia and James chose this venue right in the heart of Melbourne’s central business district because of its great cityscape. Julia and James wanted a warm, relaxed party and indeed they achieved that. It was a great celebration with family and friends. One of their friends even wrote a poem for them, titled ‘One Saturday in May’. Here’s an excerpt:
“So this is where it all starts
as a hundred stand in a circle around you today
(who would all do the same again tomorrow)
and there are more out there,
swelling with pride
that these two
our two
will keep each other’s hearts glowing,
warm and beating
beyond 365 more nights
but on
and on
and on
and on…”

As the bride is from a Polish background, the couple also incorporated a few Polish touches into the wedding. Besides a Polish blessing, guests sang the traditional celebration song ‘Sto Lat’ all night.
As the photographer said, “It was at James and Julia’s wedding that I came to a revelation of what the statement ‘love is a friendship set on fire’ really means”.
