“We visited about 7 different venues before we arrived at Puncak Rimba, and nothing beats the feeling of being driven through streams and a vast space of greenery with tropical flower gardens before arriving at the event space itself”. Jaycee and Jack fell in love with the serene nature surrounding the 12 acres private estate in Janda Baik, and found it even more fantastic that they were ‘disconnected from the outside world’ as soon as they reached the main house on the vast property – Villa Puncak. “No phone reception means our guests will be able to immerse fully into the experience of being present in nature, instead of being glued to their phone,” Jaycee added.

The couple met in a high school musical production back in 2006. Their mutual love for music and performance has been the foundation of their relationship ever since. They decided to tie the knot in August 2022. 216 guests joined in their celebration of love through a nimble ceremony, followed by dinner reception afterwards. Dressed handsomely in a custom blue suit, Jack looked simply dashing in his choice of outfit while Jaycee went experimental and playful with her custom dress. For the ceremony, Jaycee adorned a lace and beaded tailored bodysuit, paired with a long mermaid skirt, complete with detachable sleeves that gave an illusion of an off-shoulder dress.

They exchanged their vows by the pool, below an orchid filled archway surrounded by family and friends. The ceremony was short but sweet. Thereafter, guests enjoyed refreshments in the form of Jack and Jaycee’s favourite foods – which they incorporated into the wedding; like oysters, a favourite of Jack’s and an ice-cream booth for Jaycee. A full-fledged coffee counter was also offered on site-a huge hit among their guests.

It was hard to believe that the décor of the day was DIY-ed by the groom’s mom, who herself, was in the wedding décor business back in the day. Enhancing the already breathtaking-looking location with heaps of floral arrangements, she blew the brief out of the park. For the night session, the bride removed the sleeves and mermaid skirt, replacing it with a shorter one with an overlapping slit to dance and match the lighter festivities that followed.

Fairy lights hung overhead in the reception space and brought the highland venue to life. The couple was convinced that no other venue they had visited could have matched the enchanting effect this place could have brought them. As the skies turned darker, the natural setting served as a canvas allowing the light installations to stand out even more.

Jack and Jaycee described their wedding as a celebration filled with meaningful nostalgia, as friends who were also former performers in their younger years gathered together. “Just like old times,” they danced and sang throughout the night. It was a night of good music and joyful ambience, a perfect representation of the couple’s love for each other and their passion for live performance.

The climax of the event was a surprise fireworks show arranged by Jack’s father for the couple. Shots of industrial fireworks lit up the sky to mark the occasion. It was fitting as it was also a symbolic gesture of worship to the Sky God, a practice observed by the groom’s family.
