For marriages registered in India, Indonesia, Nigeria, Philippines, Sri Lanka, and Thailand. A certified true copy stamp by either the Malaysian High Commission/Embassy in the country it’s from, or said country’s High Commission/Embassy in Malaysia including a recertification stamp by the Foreign Ministry at Wisma Putra, in Putrajaya.

Important Things To Note

  • Both individuals a re required to be present during application of marriage registration
  • Marriage Certificate cost: RM20.00 (in cash)
  • Registration should be submitted within 6 months from the date of stated on foreign marriage certificate or within 6 months of first arrival in Malaysia as a married couple. Penalty for late registration applies. RM100.00 for the first year and an additional RM 50.00 for every subsequent year thereafter.
