Janine and Carlos’ first met in February 2018 at Union Strength, Carlos’ gym. After 6 ½ years together, Carlos proposed in their first home, enlisting the help of Janine’s closest friends while their parents secretly watched via FaceTime from another room. It was intimate and meaningful. But Janine, ever the romantic, decided to turn the tables two weeks later by proposing to Carlos as well, ensuring they both had an engagement ring to kickoff this significant milestone.

Selecting Four Seasons Kuala Lumpur was an easy decision for the couple. They wanted a venue that was both stunning and practical, ensuring a seamless experience for their guests. The deciding factor? Ellie, their person-in-charge from Four Seasons, who, made the couple felt at ease from the get go. And together with KAMI Weddings made up the dream team. The results spoke for themselves—every element of the celebration came together flawlessly. “The entire journey of planning was just meaningful. It was a smooth, stress-free process” shares the bride.

The wedding carried a striking colour palette of black, white, and green. The couple’s custom signage, including a board celebrating their journey and their guests’ contributions, including special shoutouts like who RSVP-ed the fastest and who travelled the furthest, added a meaningful and interactive touch. The cake was a sleek, multi-tiered white design wrapped with a flowing black satin ribbon, perfectly encapsulating the wedding’s refined contemporary theme.

Janine was a vision in a striking strapless wedding gown with voluminous ruffles cascading down the skirt, exuding modern romance. For the afterparty, she made a bold and playful switch to a chic white mini dress with feather detailing, perfectly paired with white sneakers, ensuring she could dance the night away. Her effortless style was complemented by a sleek high ponytail and statement earrings, embodying both elegance and fun. Carlos, equally dashing, wore a classic black tuxedo with a crisp white shirt and a black bow tie, radiating timeless sophistication. Together, they were the epitome of a stylish and charismatic couple.

The wedding unfolded in a series of perfectly paced events, starting with a Filipino blessing ceremony, followed by a lively cocktail hour, an interactive and laughter-filled dinner, and finally, an afterparty that guests will never forget.

One of the most memorable moments? The transition from dinner to the afterparty. “We’ve been to weddings where getting people onto the dance floor felt like pulling teeth, and we wanted to avoid that awkward lull at all costs. So instead, we orchestrated the perfect kickoff. We gathered everyone in the middle of the ballroom for a giant group photo using a drone. Just as the drone snapped the shots, the lights went off, the DJ dropped the beat, and the afterparty exploded into full swing. The energy in the room was ELECTRIC — everyone went wild.” Janine shares.

To add to the revelry, a Tequila Train rolled in—with two of the couple’s friends handing out shots to all the guests. The night concluded with a thoughtful touch—a comforting late-night spread of nasi lemak, satay, and char kway teow, ensuring guests left with full hearts and happy stomachs.
Reflecting on their perfect day, Janine and Carlos emphasize the importance of trusting the right team and making guest experience a priority. Their wedding was not just about them—it was about celebrating love with the people who mattered most. Their advice?
“Focus on creating moments, not just aesthetics. Your guests will remember how they felt more than how everything looked.”
