It is true that if we wanted to pinpoint our differences they would be endless, but when we celebrate our similarities, we can put away our differences. It should be that way even before you enter into marriage. Thanks, Adam Ong, for the great photos, and congrats, Tie The Knot and Wishing Tree, for this beautiful, rustic, coffee themed setup. We love it. Give us coffee any day instead of wedding favours we won’t use!
Julee: “We love intimate weddings. The most memorable part of the wedding was to be able to see our loved ones witnessing our marriage. The ceremony was filled with joy and laughter, from the bridal march in to the pronouncement of husband and wife. We really treasure those moments, and we are happy to have one of Malaysia’s top photographers, Adam Ong, capture those memorable moments for us. It takes a really good photographer to capture all the details and emotions very well.
“When it came to choosing the venue, we spent a lot of time surveying each place. It was tough, as we couldn’t find a place that we liked. When we first saw City Harvest Kuala Lumpur, we fell in love with the rustic architecture of the church. Without hesitation, we emailed the church coordinator and placed the booking. We chose to have a coffee themed wedding because both of us love coffee!
“We made appointments with several decorators, and talked to them about our ideas. Talking to them personally helped us to know what their principles were, and we were able to trust them completely. In this case, we consider ourselves lucky to have been able to have a great discussion with Sherly of Tie The Knot. Besides listening to our ideas, she also shared her views and expertise. We were assured that it would turn out well in her hands!
“A coffee themed wedding would not be complete without a coffee corner and a barista! For us, we had The Mad Alchemy serve our guests a good cup of coffee to start the day. Our guests loved their coffee as much as we did! Aside from serving coffee, they also served tea and chocolate for non-coffee lovers. We were pleased to see our guests chitchatting around the coffee table, enjoying the coffee and the yummylicious desserts. Both the coffee and desserts received many compliments from the guests.
“We skipped the gatecrashing ceremony as we wanted to have more time for the church ceremony. Therefore, we had our tea ceremony in the church itself. For wedding coordination, we had our siblings and good friends to help us. They were indeed a great help in making the ceremony go smoothly. This was far more important than eating wasabi.”
Great tips from the bride:
1. Simplicity is best.
2. Hire a good photographer.
3. Research and do only what is needed.
4. To save on your budget, get your friends to help with coordinating the event.
5. Speak to your vendors and get to know them.
6. Trust your vendors, and stay happy on your wedding day!
