Sherina and Ryan’s love story feels like something straight out of a rom-com.The couple first met in New York in the summer of 2019, only to realise they had been living just a few blocks apart—frequenting the same cafes, grocery stores, and even their favourite taco spot—yet had never crossed paths until fate intervened. Ryan’s proposal was just as cinematic, disguised as a “photo shoot for a friend’s jewelry brand” during a scenic hike in Montenegro. With the breathtaking landscape as their backdrop and a bit of suspicion already in the air, Sherina said yes, setting the stage for their culture-rich wedding at The Chateau Spa & Wellness Resort.

Sherina was a vision in a strapless corset wedding gown featuring a ruched bodice and a structured silhouette that exuded both modern elegance and timeless romance. For the reception, she changed into a shimmering, off-shoulder, form-fitting gown, perfect for dancing the night away. The groom complemented her effortlessly in a tailored white tuxedo jacket with black trousers, a classic black bow tie, and a boutonniere featuring delicate blooms. His reception look remained sharp and sophisticated, allowing for seamless transitions from toasts to dance floor moments.

The wedding day unfolded beautifully, beginning with a heartfelt Christian ceremony where Sherina and Ryan exchanged vows and rings. Their ceremony space was adorned with an enchanting floral display featuring lush arrangements in hues of blush, peach, yellow, and blue, creating a whimsical yet romantic atmosphere. The venue’s glass architecture allowed natural light to pour in, enhancing the ethereal aesthetic. Following the ceremony, guests were welcomed into a lively cocktail hour before the grand reception began.

For the reception, long banquet tables were elegantly set with gold-accented chairs draped in white tulle bows, adding a touch of soft romance. Overhead, crystal chandeliers cast a warm, luxurious glow, elevating the entire ambiance to one of grandeur and intimacy.

One of the most remarkable aspects of the night was the thoughtful incorporation of both Sherina’s Iban heritage and Ryan’s Filipino-American roots. Traditional Iban dancers performed the ngajat, a graceful and symbolic dance, while the poco-poco, a popular line dance, brought guests of all backgrounds together in celebration. The reception also honoured American traditions with a touching father-daughter dance, a heartfelt mother-son dance, and a lively open cocktail bar that served espresso martinis and refreshing signature drinks, keeping spirits high well into the night.

For Sherina, the most unforgettable part of the night was, without a doubt, dancing—whether it was their first dance as husband and wife, the cultural performances, or the infectious energy on the dance floor. Sherina and Ryan’s biggest takeaway from planning their wedding? Trust your vendors! The couple had nothing but praise for their incredible team, especially their planner Queenie from WMS by Queenie, who flawlessly executed their vision.
