1920s Shanghainese and Jazz Themed Wedding at Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur

We found ourselves poring over this gorgeous wedding album taken at the Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur again and again for its rich tones and meaningful accents – all thanks to the thoughtful bride. Having grown up in a traditional Chinese family, she was eager to embrace her heritage by making a bold statement at the most significant celebration of her life.

Together with her groom, they decided on a 1920s Shanghainese and jazz theme, creating an opulent balance between traditional and modern. The bride shared: “The most memorable aspect was the wedding dinner, where good company was enhanced by the perfect harmony of beautiful decorations and music.” We love the festive reds and pinks in the roses, cherry blossoms and other décor, complete with touches of gold, yellow and glitter. Particularly for the more traditional families, grand declarations of love such as this one truly honour the parents and the elderly relatives, which only adds to the joy of the occasion.
