Pandemic weddings can be really special. There’s something about capturing intimate moments in the privacy and comfort of your own home, plus being at home doesn’t mean it cannot also be sexy and sophisticated. Styled by Med Kärlek Inc and captured by Juanmoley Fotologue, these styled portraits carry an effortless yet curated look – one that can be easily achieved!
Phillane Cheng of Med Kärlek Inc: “We were inspired by our clients, the changing times and current pandemic, and the words of Si Ying of Eloise the Brand: ‘The union of two souls defined, not by numbers, the glitz or traditions, but the intimate moments in-between, surrounded by the people closest to heart.’
“We wanted to showcase a different kind of wedding and perhaps embrace a new normal. Pandemic weddings can still be special and beautiful. We designed this shoot with newly engaged young couples in mind, and we wanted them to know that a small home wedding can also be a special one.
“We envisioned a sexy and sophisticated shoot that was fashionable but not trendy. We wanted ‘the wedding’ to be achievable, and that’s why this shoot was done in an HDB flat, and the setup was mainly just a feature wall and the dining table. We wanted only whiskey, cake, bread and good music for partying the evening away – nothing too fancy but a whole lot of fun.
“As for the couple’s outfits, we wanted the bride to wear something simple yet classy and fierce, so we went with a shirt dress from ZARA, thigh high socks and black boots, which were the model’s own. The groom’s outfit was custom made and his own too.”
