We love how this couple managed to pull off a surprise wedding! They told their guests that they would be surprising the groom for his 30th birthday, only to turn the tables on them!
The theme of black, white and silver was elegant and classic without giving anything away, and the bridal couple actually styled everything on their own – waking up early to do everything on their wedding day before heading back to the hotel to get ready together. Many thanks to Wattle & Lace for capturing these joyous moments.
Ann-Marie: “Known for not doing anything the traditional way, Matt and I surprised 34 of our guests by getting married at his ‘surprise’ 30th birthday. We didn’t want any fuss or anything unnecessary, we just wanted to purely focus on what’s most important to us: spending time with friends and family, and having an amazing party.
“The most memorable moments were getting ready together, seeing the shock on our guests’ faces when we arrived at the venue and announced that we were getting married, and finally, dancing the night away with our family and friends.”
Tips from the bride: “Always do your research! Create a timeline to ensure that you’re organised – Matt and I organised our entire wedding within five months. Ask around for referrals because finding vendors through personal recommendations is always the best. And most importantly, ensure that you take time out on your special day to enjoy the moment.”
