Walking towards the love of your life as you’re about to tie the knot sure can feel like a dream. For this bride, she walked across a bridge and finally arrived at a super chic hexagonal “arch”, set on a ceremony deck that overlooked the hot springs. Janelle: “It’s not often that you get married against a backdrop of hot springs, and host a luncheon in a limestone cave. The mountainous backdrop was very representative of the two of us – we’re both Ipoh born and bred. The small setting perfectly suited an intimate wedding, just the way we wanted it. The wedding was rustic and autumn themed, with earthy colours such as burgundy, dusty orange and green, which blended perfectly well with the venue’s natural surrounds.
“Since it was a cosy wedding, we customised the favours for each and every one of our guests by giving them a handwritten card and home baked fortune cookies with a personalised note. Most of our guests flew into Ipoh just for this, and we were so appreciative of their efforts and presence.”
Tips from the bride: “Although the planning process can be very tedious, when everything comes to fruition, the joy is indescribable. Do a lot of research, be brave and trust your gut, as this day is meant for you. Take in and enjoy every moment, because it’ll definitely fly by very quickly. Also, have a trusted coordinator and bridal team to handle things for you, so you can just focus on being the prettiest bride on your biggest day.”
