Pair draped linen and soft twinkling lights with gold sparkles and lots of flowers, and you’ve got yourself a classically perfect wedding. From the sparkly bridesmaids’ dresses to the blush pink accents in the reception’s tablescape, décor and flowers, everything came together so beautifully, and we especially love the ceiling of flowers and the floral arch. Many thanks to Adam Ong Photography for capturing this glamorous wedding party – planned by MY Wedding Planner and put together by Wishing Tree.
Michelle: “I remember walking down the aisle and looking towards the end and being able to only see Hann. As clichéd as it may sound, a relaxed feeling came over me as his gaze warmed and calmed my soul.
“What’s more fun and memorable than a giant get-together with friends and family? We had to figure out how to make a party work for 820 people, so we agreed to throw an after party in the function hall next to our reception ballroom. Everyone, both young and old, were up on their feet and having a ball dancing the night away.
“I knew I wanted a romantic and beautifully lit reception setting, draped in linen and accented with soft lighting for a dreamy and ethereal feel, as well as a colour palette and flowers that complemented the beauty of the ballroom. It’s easy to get carried away but that night when I entered the ballroom, I fell in love with everything I saw and it felt great to see the end result. Our colour scheme of blush pink, white and gold featured in all aspects of our wedding day, from our invitations to the bridesmaids’ dresses and the floral decorations. We also brought in gold chairs to fit the grand space.”
Tips from the bride: “Don’t take the small details seriously and laugh a lot! Planning a wedding can make you crazy and you can easily be convinced that something minor is of the utmost importance, but a wedding is not about the pomp and circumstance. At the end of the day, no one will notice if something wasn’t there to begin with, and no one will ever remember the cake that never came out.
“Also, don’t be afraid to ask for help, and remember the point of it all: love! As tempting as it is to seek perfection, be gracious to yourself because no matter how much you plan, something will deviate from the plan on that day. It’s easy to get carried away with everything going on but remember that ultimately, you’re marrying the love of your life, and that’s what counts.”
