High ceilings and exposed brick walls were the perfect contrasting background to the beautiful metal accents and glamorous glitter and gold. This wedding was the perfect combination of rustic and glamorous, with a long table setting replete with industrial cans of wildflowers and glass bottles. We especially loved the mismatched bridesmaids outfits, all of which were glittery and metallic but in a variety of dress lengths and colours. Many thanks to Bliss & Glitz and Catking Photography for capturing these details.
Shyyi: “I wanted it to be industrial yet glamorous; only City Harvest KL had exposed brick walls, though I had already started the planning process way before we managed to lock down a venue. From the masthead to the overall look and feel of the big day, we knew we wanted to use lots of metal and hints of gold.”
“My husband and I are both from advertising and we both love to drink – as do our guests! So we had a Happy Hour Bar (from 9pm onwards, although beer was served all night long), and our drinks were named after a variety of advertising terms and lingo. Most of our guests were from the same industry too. We felt it was very fitting to ‘us’, so for example, we had drinks called ‘The Impossible Brief’, ‘The Whatever’, ‘The Big Idea’, etc. Toward the end of the night, it really started to feel like a real party – we had a retro disco ball, which added to the glitz and glam of the night!”
