Rhuvern and Joanne’s love story began as a friendship forged on the tennis court in their teenage years. Fast forward seven years, their love blossomed, and they embarked on a journey of love that led them to their special day. Rhuvern, a tax consultant, and Joanne, an aesthetic and wellness doctor, had a bond that grew stronger over time, culminating in a beautiful wedding celebration that perfectly reflected their personalities.

Their journey was a gradual progression from friends to lovers. As Rhuvern reminisces, “We met when we were 14 at a tennis competition and we used to go to the same tuition centre back in our hometown. We remained good friends through the many years since we met.”

The couple chose Puncak Dani as their wedding venue due to their love for the outdoors. They contemplated between a beach or garden wedding. And although the allure of the sea was too irresistible to ignore, practicality prevailed. Puncak Dani was for them a dream venue, a cooling oasis only 45 minutes from the city, yet it felt like an escape from Malaysia. Joanne recounts, “When we arrived and saw it, we knew instantly this was where we wanted to be married. Puncak Dani was the first venue we checked out, and it was the only one we needed to see.” Their intimate wedding was attended by approximately 85 guests.

With simplicity in mind, Rhuvern and Joanne opted for a wedding without an overarching theme. Instead, they wanted a day that was relaxed and fun for everyone involved. Their wedding wasn’t just a ceremony but a short getaway for family and friends. Between the tea ceremony and the reception, some guests ventured to Genting Highlands for shopping and a bit of casino excitement. The unpredictable Malaysian weather was delightful on their special day, the sky was golden and the air cool.

The bride wore a structured strapless dress with a sweetheart neckline and A-line tulle skirt with a high slit. She chose to complete her look with a Thai-style makeup, a nod to her Thai roots. The intimate evening ceremony was cosy and romantic. However, the highlight was undoubtedly their furbaby, Miyo, who served as the adorable ring bearer. “It was the best decision we made for the wedding, to include Miyo in our exchange of vows.” Joanne shared.

When asked about their most memorable moment, the answer was unanimous. It was the sight of Miyo running down the aisle with the rings, a moment of pure joy and cuteness that will be forever etched in their hearts.

The couple expressed their gratitude for their exceptional vendors. From the talented photographer capturing their cherished moments to the makeup artists and decorator who transformed their vision into reality, every detail of their day was a result of the collaborative efforts of those who made it possible. For couples in the midst of wedding planning, Rhuvern and Joanne suggested to “just relax, enjoy the process, and have fun. Know what you truly want and prioritise it.” Their secret to a stress-free wedding? Between them, each person get to pick one must-have element, and the rest of the detail is negotiable. It’s all about ensuring your special day reflects your unique love story without breaking the bank.
