There is so much to love about this wedding. No fluffy gown for the bride, just a lovely, flowy dress, the couple choosing to let their feet feel the texture of the sand by going barefoot. Simple DIY décor and a ceremony that was attended by only their closest friends and family. This is exactly the way a beach wedding should be. Did we mention that it was held just at East Coast Park? Andri Tei did an awesome job documenting this. The bridesmaids and flowergirls in coral were the perfect finishing touch on top of all the beautiful floral arrangements that were put together by the guys. And the groom made the bridal bouquet!
Desmond: “Everything was memorable, especially putting on the ring and watching my bride walk down the aisle!”
Ann: “We met on a beach in Ghana and got engaged on a beach in Norway, so it was perfect to get married on the beach in Singapore. And since East Coast Park is one of our favorite places in Singapore, Mana Mana Beach Club was an obvious choice.
“It is going to be hard to forget the whole day. Everything was perfect! Walking down the aisle with my dad, seeing my handsome husband waiting for me with tears in his eyes, saying ‘I do’ to each other, dancing barefoot on the beach with my husband, friends and family…
“We wanted an informal and relaxed celebration with close friends and family, with romantic and colourful décor. We bought tablecloths from Ikea and cut it ourselves. For the table namecards, we cut out paper hearts and wrote the name of each guest on it, with a personalised message at the back. We bought the flowers from a local florist, and the groom and his friends put them together in vases that had different sizes and designs that we had collected, including old peanut butter jars. The groom even made the wedding bouquet. We wanted a natural, fresh look. We also put bowls of fresh berries on the tables.”
Tips from the bride: “The day will be over very quickly, so enjoy every moment! Don’t stress or worry about anything. All that matters is that you say ‘I do’ to each other, and that you are sharing your love and happiness with your loved ones. It is not necessary to spend a lot of money. What I most remember from the day is not the things that we spent money on, but my husband’s smile when I walked in, how happy he looked the whole evening, the fact that all the guests were happy for us, and finally, how happy I felt the whole day.”
