Walking hand in hand around the Memorial Garden outside the first Christian church built in Singapore, Deborah and Fabian were captivated by the elegant beauty of The Armenian Apostolic Church of St. Gregory The Illuminator. They had imagined a modest chapel ceremony with their family and close friends, and as they entered the historic church, the quaintness and cosy ambiance immediately captured their attention with a warm and inviting sense. They fell in love with the church’s elaborate features and venerable architecture. The venue matched the bride’s visualised white-wedding concept, and they knew that they have found the perfect place to gather their loved ones, to witness the exchange of vows and the intertwining of their love.

Dressed stunningly in her white satin ballgown, Deborah chose to complete her look with a pearly-detailed veil and earrings. She complimented Fabian’s Khaki suit, maintaining an earthy tone to the entire look of the event. Their bridesmaids and groomsmen were dressed playfully in equally soft hues of lighter browns; the men with their leather suspenders and bowtie, while bride’s entourages carried their purposely-coordinated adorable bag and heels. A special quiet moment between the couple took place before they both stepped into the chapel for the ceremony. After deciding not to see each other physically for a week before the big day, they exchanged their ‘last’ love letters written before they level up their status as husband and wife. Still not allowed to take a peek on each other’s look, they stood against a wall side by side, holding hands and giggling to each other’s notes.

“We decided to hire a planner and put our trust in her to coordinate our events as we do not want to burden our bridesmaids and groomsmen with tasks that would occupy them on our wedding day. We want them to be present and enjoy the celebration with us fully, as they their presence means a lot to us,” Deborah shared. The couple decided to start the whole wedding planning by listing their priorities on having the wedding celebration, and it helped them navigate their expenses as well and communicating their needs to each other well throughout the preparation. “You need to let go other things that are not important, and it is easy to do so when you have streamlined your priorities from the get go,” they added.

When asked what are the core memories from their reception dinner, Deborah giggled as she shared that one of it has to be their first dance with the groom’s father and his live band singing Taylor Swift’s “Lover,” as they took the floor and later joined by their family and friends. Grateful that their union of love turned out to be one of the meaningful gatherings with the people who matters, the bride summarised, “Every moment passes by so quickly. Soak it all in. Be present and enjoy every emotions and feelings captured all around in the events, the people, in the moment, at that time”.
