This wedding truly is a celebration of friends and loved ones. From the wedding planning by good friend Theodora Soh to the invitations and stationery, from the flowers and décor to the cakes and desserts, everything was put together by friends of the bridal couple. How very blessed they are to have been showered with so much help from family and friends.
Besides the beautiful details, we also love the people and the emotions that were captured. You can almost hear the music, the tears and the laughter. And looking at all the photos and watching the video, you realise that is exactly what it was like.
Charlene: “Standing outside the church was a big moment for me as this was the church that I grew up in. The design of the dress had also been kept a secret from the groom until the moment the church doors opened. It was definitely a moment of great anticipation.
“We had over 60 guests, including those who had flown in from Australia, America, Hong Kong and the Philippines, and it was just great knowing that our loved ones had made such an effort to share our special day with us. Since ours had been a long distance relationship, our wedding was another step for us to be together, and finally being in the same country at the same time.
“We had a travel and nature theme, which was very apt for us. Jason lived in Sydney while I lived in Dubai. I was a flight attendant and so I traveled a lot. Jason would fly around and meet me in the cities where I had stopovers, meeting me whenever and wherever he could, and we also travelled together frequently.
“Our save-the-dates for the wedding were flight boarding passes, wedding invitations were paper planes, and favours were luggage tags that our guests can actually use. We are also very earthy and green people, and that’s why we chose the colour green for our theme.
“We wanted a cosy and intimate reception, and we fell in love with the high ceilings and organic theme of the restaurant, as well as its lighting.”
Bridal tip: “Plan ahead and don’t stress. Enjoy the day, and let your hair down and party!”
