This intimate wedding was held in Lamont’s Bishop House, a restaurant located in the heart of the Perth city. Surrounded by tall buildings, it has a lush expanse of lawn fringed with trees and a courtyard that is perfect for hosting a lunch reception.
Other than a vibrant peony backdrop, the ceremony space needed no further additions, while the banquet style reception tables were decorated with in-season flowers in gold vases. The colours were chosen with a spring theme in mind, bringing different shades of pink, fuchsia, yellow and orange together. Set against lush foliage and bathed in warm sunshine, the celebration certainly looked like a bright and happy start to the couple’s marriage journey.
Many thanks to Dennis Yap Photography for this peek into Janet and Ethan’s big day!
Janet: “We decided to have an intimate wedding with only close family and friends to celebrate our union. We had a garden ceremony and outdoor reception, surrounded by flowers and greenery in spring. Lamont’s Bishop House was selected as it fit perfectly with what I had in mind, and it’s also a reputable restaurant that has won awards. I wanted my guests to be comfortable and have fun while celebrating our big day!
“I remember the weather on the day so clearly! The forecast was rain that weekend, but the day turned out to be sunny and warm, with a light, cool breeze. It was wonderful. Ethan playing the games during the Chinese gate-crashing ceremony was very memorable, and other memorable moments included when my parents walked me down the aisle towards Ethan, and how he looked so nervous with both his hands clasped together.
“Then there was the moment when he said his vows. It was just so special to have all our family and friends from both Australia and Malaysia celebrating together with us on our wedding day. Last but not least, the centrepieces and wedding cake that was decorated with fresh, colourful flowers are also stuck in my mind!”
