As lovers of art and beauty, it was not surprising at all that Analy and Jose chose to be wed at Antigua, Guatemala, a UNESCO world heritage site. The couple knew from the moment they got engaged that they wanted a small and intimate destination wedding.
Analy: “I fell in love with my shoes because they were simple and chic. I put on more traditional jewellery during the ceremony and kicked it up a notch with a bulkier and trendier necklace for the reception. My wonderful stylist braided my hair into a half up-do for the reception and added a gorgeous hairpiece that completely transformed my look and went amazingly well with my jewellery.”
“Jose and I chose to do a first look, and we saw each other before the wedding. Our chauffeur took us around the cobblestone streets of Antigua in a 1936 Chrysler convertible while playing Frank Sinatra. People on the street were applauding, taking pictures and congratulating us; complete strangers joined in our happiness and made that drive our fondest memory. It was just amazing.
“I’ve seen all kinds of themes and colour palettes in weddings but I wanted something stylish and timeless. Our main colour theme was black and ivory with hints of green that was brought in with the use of peacock feathers.
“My main focus was to highlight the beauty of our location, a museum and hotel that were once a monastery in the early 18th century. We used candles and simple flower arrangements to enhance the already gorgeous location.”
Tip from the bride: “I believe that trends pass and fashion always changes, but style remains forever.”
