For years now, Bali has been the destination of choice for couples seeking cosy and intimate destination weddings – and for good reason! Saying your vows before God and your loved ones, overlooking the sparkling ocean with the sound of waves upon the shore, is nothing short of a blessing to be treasured forever.
Such was the case with Careen and Daniel’s wedding, a grand celebration of love and life that was filled with thoughtful details in ivory, cream, gold, earthy tones, and blue. Kudos to Adi from Axioo for these splendid captures!
Hosting a beach wedding in Bali in January meant risking rain, however the couple was determined. They chose Alila Seminyak Bali for its ample overhead coverage that served as a rain contingency, which allowed them to have a fantastic, worry-free outdoor wedding.
Careen shared: “The best part of the day was the intimacy and blessing we experienced. The moment we said our vows before God and loved ones, everything felt perfect and we enjoyed every moment together.
“Details matter, and ours breathed personality into the decorations. We used pastel flowers, sprayed baby’s breath with gold mist, and strung up fairy lights as well as a huge chandelier cage for flair. There are many artists and online shops offering personalised décor. I also had an additional set of invitations done by my favourite calligrapher – Connie Rie.”
Tips from the bride: “Decide on your favourite vendors as soon as you can. Browse wedding blogs and Instagram for inspiration, and gather useful information from your married friends. Personalised stationery and other thoughtful details can add character to your wedding. After choosing your preferred vendors, you can then execute your plans at a more leisurely pace.
“The stress will usually kick in closer to the big day, so try not to leave everything to the last minute as there’s the chance that things won’t go as planned. Things may not be perfect but just enjoy every moment – that’s all that matters.”
