Eshen and Zong Xuan first met in high school. Late-night MSN chat sessions led them to develop a deeper interest in getting to know each other. The two hit it off and have been together ever since.

Selecting the perfect wedding venue was a special challenge for the couple, as they lived in the UK but decided Malaysia was the place to tie the knot. They initially dreamt of a Tuscany villa or vineyard-style outdoor wedding but couldn’t find a place that matched their vision. Eventually, they decided to hold their wedding at Zong Xuan’s family home, a deeply sentimental choice. Assisted by their dedicated wedding planner; Eventistry, the open lawn space was transformed into their dream wedding venue to fit 120 of their guest.

Embracing an Italian Tuscany theme, their wedding featured soft-pastel colors with palette of orange, purple, pink, white, and green. An elegant 8-ft arch adorned the tree, and a charming lounge area with wooden pallets and flower arrangements added to the enchanting ambiance.

Heartfelt moments filled Eshen and Zong Xuan’s wedding day right from the start where, in the morning they had the traditional Chinese ceremony, followed by an evening ceremony and finally an outdoor dinner reception. “Hearing emcee Weiwei beautifully reiterated our love story, exchanging our vows and having our favourite live band – Wildflowers Music and Eventistry orchestrated the perfect start to our night, as requested – with Yellow by Coldplay as the lights went on were the most memorable part of the day for me.” recalled Eshen.

The ceremony took place beneath a grand tree, which had witnessed Zong Xuan’s journey from a childhood to young adult. A photo montage showed him and his father standing under the tree, emphasizing the passing of time. Many of their dearest friends recalled happy days spent playing football in the yard, making it the such a sentimental location for their special day.

Eshen and Zong Xuan added personal touches throughout their wedding. During the ceremony, the couple created a time capsule by sealing a bottle of wine purchased in Germany during their travels, along with their vow books in a custom wooden box, to be opened and enjoyed years down the road. Guests were treated to the couple’s favourite ice-creams and homemade beers that were crafted by a family friend.

They expressed their deep appreciation for all their vendors, who went the extra mile to make their wedding day extraordinary, recommending them to future bride and grooms planning their wedding. “Trust your instincts, follow your vision, and don’t hesitate to make your wedding uniquely your own,” the couple concluded as they reminisced on their wedding celebration that was truly memorable.
