Lord, have mercy… we can’t get enough of the immaculate detailing injected into this gorgeous wedding at The Clifford Pier, Fullerton Bay Hotel Singapore. From beautiful butter cookies with fragrant dried flowers and gold leaves to that wedding stationery design and a handwritten menu printed on fabric, it was all simply stunning. Thank you for capturing this glorious occasion so excellently, VRP Photography!

The groom shared: “These made the day extra special for us: all our family and friends flew in from around the world to attend the lunch. We had guests from Malaysia, where (the bride) grew up, and from France, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Australia and Hong Kong. It was incredibly heart-warming to have so many people come together to celebrate the day with us.

“To honour the bride’s 91-year-old grandmother flying in from Kuala Lumpur, the bride and her bridesmaids donned traditional Peranakan outfits for the tea ceremony, paying tribute to her grandmother’s cultural heritage. Other special guests were the bride’s childhood pastor (who performed the ceremony), and my childhood friends.”

The couple wanted a space with beautiful architecture and plenty of natural light. They pored over art galleries and unconventional wedding venues before settling on this one. Taking inspiration from The Clifford Pier, they decided on an overall colour palette of neutrals, accented with green, blush, white, grey and touches of gold.

Flowers were kept to a minimum, and instead of an arch for the blessing ceremony, they had a tablescape with chiffon drapes. Wedding favours in the form of pretty cookies added a splash of colour to the tables, and we were enchanted by the designated children’s play area that gave the kids a chance to create their own wedding favours to take home. What a genius idea!

Tips from the bride: “Keep an open mind when sourcing vendors, as they might give you fresh ideas and help you to save costs. Having a Pinterest board of ideas is especially helpful for décor. In Singapore, renting a gown can cost as much as buying one so always check with bridal houses for markdowns or sample sales. I bought my Pronovias gown for $800 at Blessed Brides. Finally, make a wish list and work on your budget. Allocate 20% on top of the budget for unforeseen costs.”
